This is a very good value hotel with polite service. The staff are very friendly & accomodating. It benefits from three swimming pools. We have stayed there for seven times now. Well located for local shops, restaurants, buses & taxis. Good view of the Atlantic Ocean from the balcony of my room. Madeira is a relaxed & peaceful Island, full of fresh air & lush greenery & colour with so many flowers & plants. The seafood is lovely throughout the Island. Meals are of generous servings and is not rushed. The Capital Funchal has a Marina where the cruise ships come in to moor. The hills and mountains are spectacular and must be experienced. I will always stay at the Dom Pedro when I visit Madeira.
I think they should add a satellite TV in the lobby to help it be more inviting for clients to stick around and mingle.

Location is nice and the cleaning was every day. Месторасположение хорошее и убирались каждый день. Die Ort ist gut und unser Zimmer war jeden Tag zauber gemacht.
Old towels and furniture, too far from the sea, very poor choice of breakfast (literally bread, ham/cheese, honey and 2types of jam plus beverages), coroaches around the territory and on our balcony plus nothing against mosquitos, wi-fi was only in the lobby, ceiling in the bathroom was leaking, at least some time before if not during our stay, and wasn't re-painted...:(

The hotel bar closes too early (11pm) and there is no night activities in the hotel. Poor breakfast.

The price is very good. There is a pool and sunbeds, the room is clean every day and is very spacious.
The hotel is very noisy. You can ear everything from the room above, and next to you. Is very uncomfortable. Also you can ear people entering the hotel and doors slamming every single time. The walls are very thin.

We stayed with the family for 9 days. Hotel has nice yards with lawn, flowers, palm trees and 2 outdoor pools, which are clean and not crowded at all. There was also one internal working pool available for swimming. Rooms were clean, staff friendly. Hotel located in the center of small city Garajau - cafes, shops and all you need is just over the street. As all windows are into the yard side, there is no noise from the street . Till Funchal 10 min drive on the highway. Hotel computer available to use free of charge in the lobby. We liked the hotel. It's a very good value for the price paid.
Quite a modest breakfest. Could be better.

Recommend for a city trip
Beautiful location, friendly staff, with a convenient bus stop right across the street for easy access to Funchal, and the clean outdoor pool provided a refreshing retreat after exploring the area.
Nothing could be improved.

Having stayed at the hotel previously three years ago, I was surprised and disappointed that the restaurant and bar had both been closed, and that entertainment was no longer on offer. Two of the swimming pools were still open, but there seemed to be few visitors, and the general ambience was dead. It is difficult to know how to classify the hotel: it should be suitable for a family holiday, but sadly was not at this time. Fortunately, having our own car, we were not dependent on the hotel facilities.

The hotel was very clean. Our room was cleaned and made up every day, including Christmas day. Also there was plenty of hot water. The hotel receptionists were very polite and helpful. The location made it a good base for touring the island. We had a car but there is also a local bus service for Funchal.
The hotel was advertised as having a heated indoor pool. I don't know if it was broken or switched off for the quiet season but it wasn't heated, in fact it was freezing! The receptionist did tell us before we got in though :) Also the bar and restaurant did not open, again I don't know if this was for the quiet season, but there are a couple of good restaurants and cafes nearby.

i was really disappointed from hotel staff at reception, they are totally unhelpful. And also, they have ONLY ONE eletric outlet in every room, even in the room for 4 persons, That´s it really bad.

Reasonably large rooms with a great view available. Handy location in above relaxing location over looking the sea, and 5 minute walk from an Art Deco statue. Also - next to the common areas, the taxi and restaurants shops.

The location was great with ease of access to taxis or buses. There were several restaurants opposite the apartments and I can highly recommend the chicken with figs at ' Figos ' The pool was cleaned every night and looked clean. The sunbeds were comfy and plentiful. The rooms were clean and had crisp cottons sheets on the beds. The balconies were a good size and have tables and chairs. I needed my own space and a peaceful enviroment and I had both. I am going back next August!!
I had no complaints. I asked to change my room as there was some work going on nearby and there was absolutely no problem doing this.

Good value for your money: it's a very basic hotel, but it's clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Location is ok: between Funchal and the airport.
The noise from the hallway and other rooms can be heared too well. Poor breakfast: no variation, not much choice.
